1. What is your role at Thompson Gray and what program are you currently assisting with?
I work as a Budget Analyst at TG, specifically overseeing the NFSS (NASA Financial Support Service) contract for NASA. My responsibilities include handling overhead funds for division-level requests and overseeing my own set of projects. Additionally, I’m in charge of managing STAR Lab (Sensors and TPS Advanced Research Labs).
2. What previous and relevant experience do you bring to your current role at Thompson Gray?
In my prior position as a buyer supporting procurement for the government, I gained valuable experience that has directly prepared me for my current role as a Budget Analyst. The experience helped me understand the budget execution process from start to finish, offering insight into the critical elements required for success – and how not completing the process correctly at any level can affect the outcome.
3. What aspect of your job and in working with customers, do you consider yourself an expert?
I would consider myself an expert in the sense that I am team oriented and highly personable. I strive to be the best individual I can be so I can serve my customers effectively. I believe that establishing a good relationship with customers facilitates an easier working dynamic and enhances communication. I never make assumptions and always ask questions, which shows the customer I am detail-oriented and committed to getting things right the first time. This approach is a huge factor in successfully supporting our customers.
4. Why do you think companies should work with Thompson Gray, and how does Thompson Gray bring value to its customers?
Companies should collaborate with TG because TG is actively engaged and supportive of our endeavors. They prioritize recognition to those deserving individuals and really care about their employees’ success. TG values exceptional workers and gives praise when due. Thompson Gray adds value to its customers by attentively listening to their feedback and understanding the merit of their employees’ contributions.
5. What makes Thompson Gray different from other companies where you’ve been employed?
What sets TG apart from other companies that I have worked with before is how they SHOW that they care. While many companies might talk about valuing their employees, TG truly follows through. When a customer gives us kudos on anything we have done, it gets shared with TG. They let employees know that we have been recognized and that our hard work is being seen and appreciated. They go the extra mile by sending notes, gifts, or emails, expressing appreciation for our hard work. I appreciate the value TG places on its team members. They even sent me something for my birthday!
6. What do you enjoy most about working at Thompson Gray?
What I enjoy most about working with TG is that they make me feel like I matter. They affirm my value and the significance of my work. Although I have only been with TG for a relatively short time, I’ve quickly noticed the high level of engagement and the genuine value they place on employees’ efforts. It’s great to work for a company that not only TELLS you how much they appreciate and value you but also SHOWS it through their actions.
