The Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Best Places To Work Awards Ceremony at the Von Braun Center on Tuesday, August 16. The awards ceremony recognizes organizations based in Huntsville and Madison County that were the top contenders in micro, small, medium, large and extra large business categories.

We’re honored to be recognized for the third consecutive year as one of the Best Places To Work in Huntsville. Thompson Gray was humbled to receive the Bronze award in the large-sized business category (101 – 250 employees). Since 2008, our team has worked tirelessly to fulfill the mission of the Warfighter. We attribute our continued success and reputation to our employee’s dedication and hard work.

Our employees ranked Thompson Gray as one of the Best Places To Work based on leadership, employee resources, communication, benefits, and overall company culture. The judging process for the awards is based on employee surveys, and each organization can gain access to all of the anonymous responses. We value this feedback to further enhance our company culture and challenge us on ways we can best support our employees in the future. Hear from our outstanding team on what they had to say about working at Thompson Gray:

“I have worked for many companies and corporations during my 50 years of either working as a Government employee or as a support contractor, ranging in size from 50 – 175,000. Thompson Gray, by a long shot, is the most employee-oriented organization I’ve ever had the honor to be a part of. From seeing that my personal needs (pay, benefits, flexibility) are met to ensuring the Government is getting the absolute best effort and result, TG is far above any other experience I’ve had in the civilian workforce.”

“I recommend Thompson Gray to others because they value their employees, they make work fun, and everyone supports one another both on a technical and personal basis. The CEO and senior leaders recognize hard work, promote from within, and foster a “one-team” environment. I can confidently say that my opinions and suggestions are heard and considered during the decision-making process. Thompson Gray has challenged me in ways I didn’t think were possible and entrusted me with great responsibility. Although I am generously compensated for the work I do on behalf of Thompson Gray, they have set a tone at the top to ensure that all Thompson Gray families are taken care of and that speaks more to me than any paycheck ever could.”

“The company goes above and beyond to make sure employees are taken care of across the board. Managers are empowered to make decisions and help do what is best for team members. Senior-level leadership is always supportive and actively works to identify alternative solutions or approaches when necessary.”

“I’ve worked for Thompson Gray for several years now and every year they go out of their way to treat their employees and their employees’ families with care and respect. To say working for Thompson Gray is a blessing would be an understatement. I’m so proud to work for this company. Thompson Gray, hands down, is the best place to work.”

“Serving our country was one of my greatest privileges. I never thought I would find a job that I felt the same way about until I started working at Thompson Gray. I love working alongside fellow veterans, and other teammates. TG is full of great leaders, and you can tell they care about their employees by their actions. I have worked for several contract companies, and Thompson Gray far outshines them all. I’m very fortunate to work for such a great company.”
