Whether it’s through monetary donations, contributing medical supplies, or providing emergency housing, many people around the world are searching for ways to help Ukrainian refugees. One Thompson Gray employee’s family has taken the initiative to help these refugees in their own backyard.

Thompson Gray G-Invoicing Subject Matter Expert Mary Kemp’s son and his family currently reside in Poland and have been assisting refugees as they come into the country. Adam Kemp is currently a professional basketball player for the Legia Warszawa team based in Warsaw, Poland. When news of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine spread, Adam and his wife Anna quickly jumped at the opportunity to help their neighbors, bringing small items over to the train station as families arrived in Warsaw. The Kemps then talked to their families and friends in the United States about their efforts and were given donations to help with supplies.

What started as asking friends and families for donations quickly grew into more than $13,000 of contributions available for displaced families. These funds have been able to provide necessities such as suitcases and backpacks for families that need to collect their belongings, baby nesting baskets for infants to have a safe space to sleep, toys for children that had to leave their items behind, and other grocery and medicine supplies. The Kemps have been able to buy the most needed items for families and have frequently visited the local train station throughout the past few weeks to continue giving to those in need.

To support Adam and Anna’s initiative Thompson Gray has donated $1,000 to the Polish Red Cross and $1,000 to the World Central Kitchen. If you would like to donate to the Kemp’s efforts, visit https://ukrainerefugees.pl/.
