Giving back to our community is an important part of the Thompson Gray mission. We’re proud to share about the organizations we supported throughout 2021. Each has its own unique mission, and we know our cities, states and world will benefit from the work these organizations dedicate themselves to daily.
Thompson Gray Together
In 2021, we launched Thompson Gray Together (TG Together), our official company-wide philanthropic initiative. Thompson Gray is passionate about supporting organizations and projects that matter to our employees, and for that reason, a great deal of our company’s giving is based on employee nominations. Several of TG Together’s philanthropic programs include annual donations, quarterly donations, larger individual donations, endowed scholarships, and supporting Veterans.
Northern Virginia
In January of 2021, our Northern Virginia office donated $10,000 to the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), the only organization in Arlington, Virginia, solely devoted to providing residents dignified access to nutritious, supplemental groceries free of charge. The organization, who fed hundreds of families in 2020 and 2021 with the help of donations and volunteers, had seen an increase in families using their services due to the pandemic. Since our Northern Virginia employees could not meet for their annual holiday party in 2020, the team donated to this worthy cause.
Huntsville
At the beginning of 2021, CEO of Thompson Gray Ron Gray and his wife Cindy Gray were selected to be the Honorary Walk Chairs for the Alabama Kidney Foundation’s (AKF) annual Huntsville Kidney Walk Celebration. The annual statewide walk in May raises awareness and funds for low-income kidney-dialysis patients of Alabama. Through our community giving initiative, TG Together, Thompson Gray planned a drive-by celebration for the day of the event complete with music, t-shirts and photo opportunities. Thompson Gray donated $15,000 to the Huntsville Kidney Walk.
